I'm going to get one of the new Korg Monologue synths to start with. It's small, portable (it can run on batteries), has a sequencer, and looks like a lot of fun to play with. Built in oscilloscope so you can see the waveforms change. And only $400 CDN.

I also bought a PCB for the E.A.R. Gristleizer (based on the original TG/Chris Carter one) a while ago, and now I'm going to attempt to build it. I'm going to have to learn how to solder a circuit board.
