Sadly the other side of the album is more of a regular early 80s Crusaders / Wilton Felder styled set of songs but that first half is a killer piece of music. A bit corny but you can't listen to it and not grin ear to ear. Still think it's one of the greatest albums out there in any genre.
As an aside I did a bit of PR work for one of the horn section's solo albums in the 80s and I asked him about that amazing section part at around 12 minutes and he told me that they were speeding their heads off when they recorded it and that's why it has that sound of highly controlled mania.
MacDonald also recorded Calyspo Breakdwn for the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack and that has the exact same feel if less well realised when separated out from the Path concept. It's almost a try-out track for the bigger conceptual piece that followed.
