Thanks a lot for posting that Mr Q. I just saw this thread again and thought it was curious to see his name here again so many months after his death. And it is quite moving to hear that track again after so many years.

It was I who, one day, after being so moved by one piece called We Are In Revolt, recorded the vocals read out in a 'deliberately slowed-down robotic poet-is-priest' fashion (my description). Much later, Christophe heard a few things I had sent him to be used freely, this one among them, and he turned it into an ominous piece. Of all the stuff he did, I do not even know whatever happened to this or whether I even bothered to keep the recordings due to my being almost-constantly itinerant at the time.

By the way, 'We Are In Revolt' itself is an amazing piece that was written by the great Merrick who, when I asked him for permission to use it in various ways back in the day, obviously agreed 'as long as it was for a good use'. I always thought back then that the piece should be printed and distributed among schools all over the world ;-) . But that of course never happened and I was happy to keep my own *We Are In Revolt* manifesto sheet posted on my kitchen wall for future reference.

Recently I got in touch with one of Chistophe's best friends, Daniel Renne (to whom Christophe dedicated Heathen Frontiers In Sound) and, after discussing endlessly about our meetings with him, his persona, his old band and his late influence, I never even remembered to mention this to him. So your post comes at the right time.

Surely someone like Fried X should dig deeper into Christophe's very extensive back catalogue.

Regards,
AQ

Same here when I read his name again in this thread. It's funny because when I heard 'We Are In Revolt' for the first time I suspected that the voice reading the 'manifesto' hadn't been Christophe F because it didn't sound like his voice, despite the 'vocal treatment' sound to which that was submitted. Many years ago, sipping tea and chatting with him I remembered the track and asked who was responsible for the spoken word, Annexus Quam was his response. I must thank dearly the reappearance of We Are In Revolt, a fantastic piece by Christophe F with a text as powerful as accurate wonderfully read by AQ. Synchronicity AQ? A pleasure having talked about him last week with you. Oh I miss the man badly today.

Hello All. Lovely to hear your Christophe memories. Let's keep sharing. Last week I began looking into the most appropriate ways to begin releasing some of our Panzies recordings - prompted by a kind message from HI DEN. I would like to do this hard copy rather than as downloads as I'm sure that's the way he would have wanted things to be done. There are around eight ready-made releases complete with track-listings and some scraps of artwork. I will start with the set of recordings we always imagined to be our 'first album'. If this generates enough interest I will use the money to finance the next release and so on. I have no interest in making any money out this. We never made a penny in all our years as the Panzies so I don't want to start now. I have also recently discovered Christophe's Video-8 cassette of our performance at the Cornucopia gig in London. I believe this is the only visual record of the band. Happy to package this up to accompany one of the releases if people are interested. Fried.

Would love to see more UP/CF stuff come out. I don't know what kind of fees they charge, but you could use bandcamp to take pre-orders and sell any digital files to support physical releases. I find it the easiest way to get DIY and independent releases direct from the artist. Much better than listening via YouTube.

It's also great that CF's fans and friends can share their memories and enthusiasms on this forum. I suppose I "get" the Black Sheep stuff, in that I enjoy it, and the Heathen album is the best.

And hey, if anyone has a recording of the LAMF show, share it please, I've been curious as to what it's sounded like for years.

I'd love to hear more UP, Transcendental Floss is the highlight of the HH releases in my opinion (still remember finding it in the bargain bin in Steel Wheels Newcastle). I'm sure people would be willing to stump up as a donation to a worthy cause too. I was lucky enough to catch LAMF at the Tyne Theatre in about 2001 - awesome show.

More insights into Christophe Fk/Panzies career and back catalogue in the old unsung review:
http://www.headheritage.co.uk/unsung/review/761/

And full-on discography until ca 2003 when things slowed down a bit:
http://www.headheritage.co.uk/unsung/review/762/

Both were approved at the time by Christophe himself, who provided me with much of the information.

Would be great to hear more Panzies stuff. Weirdly, was rooting through the music racks earlier and found a box of CDr's I don't recall owning/playing. Has a CDr of the Panzies EP - KELT MCGHANDI EP. PVC/time 0009 that I didn't know I had, plus two Fried X CDr's of what I'm guessing are demo's. Have no recollection of where they came from, but they must have been gathering dust for some time for me to forget about them. One Fried X CDr doesn't have a tracklist, but has around 7 tracks. Whilst the other goes something like this...

Fried X - Vol: II

1: 13th Note Elevators
2: Bathwalker
3: Hanging
4: Inzeitlupe
5: Kartenspielen
6: Key Anew

Could rip them and stick em' up somewhere if anyone want's to listen.

Yes! A "crowd funding", for some Panzies to be unleashed upon the world.

Anyone!?!

That is so great to hear!

And thanks for it all (in advance, and otherwise)!

And. I'm sure that when people get a whiff of things, even more interest WILL be generated!
