Another thin week, mainly listening to promos in the car…

Moster – Inner Earth. More Norwegian prog jazz heaviness, a lot of farting around, but also some nice Crimson-esque moves.

Cool Ghouls – A Swirling Fire Burning Through the Rye. The Bright New Sound of Young San Francisco, apparently – ersatz 60s psych say I, don’t these people have anything better to do?

Movie Star Junkies – Evil Ways. If I also tell you they’re on a label called Voodoo Rhythm, you can probably guess the rest. Pleasant enough, but won’t be keeping Nick Cave awake at night.

Rhyton – Kykeon. Noodly post-rock/psych with some Greek/Middle Eastern appropriations. Worth another listen.

Pink Floyd – Atom Heart Mother / Wish You Were Here. Hadn’t heard AHM in ages, perhaps the weakest of the ‘classic’ Floyd albums? WYWH on the other hand is an epoch-defining masterpiece.

Jane Weaver – The Silver Globe. Cosmic/space/folk/kraut melange that requires your attention.
