I've now heard HOt rats and Weasels Ripped My Flesh.
I thought HR would have a heavier presence. You can certainly hear every note of every instrument played ok but I think I was expecting more bass oomph. HAven't heard the lp in years though I don't think.
Packaging is the gatefold sleeve reproduced as a 4 folded cd booklet with credits but no real linernotes. Might have expected a historical essay or something but no.
Weasels seems to have pretty great sound and a very slight cd booklet, again with credits but no liner notes so it looks like something from about 20 years ago. Odd now that getting a critic or historian to do liners in most reissues seems the norm. Maybe it supposedly speaks for itself?
Anyway, looks ok, sounds pretty good and I guess whatever histories can be read elsewhere?
Lead off track on Weasels has been dropped back down to original length, same with Gumbo Variations on HR.
