I hope this article is correct too. Although I'm not a vinyl purist and I do have an MP3 player (mainly for reasons of portability rather than sound quality), I do agree that music sounds far less interesting when all the dynamic range is squashed out of it in favour of flat, constant loudness. Could you imagine how much less effective an album full of p[eaks and troughs like "Forever Changes" would have sounded if it had been mastered according to 21st Century criteria?
