Seriously ? Thats where you're going with this ? ;p Quoting Lady Gaga as an example that makes Spotify good. Someone who has had shitloads of costly promotion spent to back her on every platform ? Come on, theres picking exceptions and then theres just being silly.

Spotify can make you 2 grand if 1 million people listen to your tune, righto. How is that great ? Oh, and lets quote the example of 'old' radio, where you'ld get paid the same amount if 1 or 1 million people listened to you at a particular time. This is worse than just an inadequate apples and oranges comparision, its frighteningly misleading. Sure Lady Gaga has had a shedload of paid downloads, but I bet next to fuck all of that was as a result of Spotify plays. It'll be to do with her huge media profile I think. As other Spotfiy artists have noted, repeatedly, Spotify plays do NOT drive traffic to paid downloads. Spotify is actually replacing paid downloads. After all, why pay to download a track when you can stream it on demand whenever you want. Thats the problem with Spotify.
