Pet Sounds MFSL stereo SACD cd

The stereo version of Pet Sounds was released quite under the radar by MFSL in February. I received my copy in the mail today. When the drums kicked in on "wouldn't it be nice" i instantly realised that this version was going to trump the stereo release that came out years ago, even with the dvd audio which i held in high esteem. This version somehow brings a lot more warmth to the legendary recording and yet also brings more focus and detail to all the instruments which make up this epic release. I literally felt like i was listening to Pet Sounds for the first time, hearing things i've never heard before. I thought the previous stereo cd was a revelation and a fantastic cd but this goes much further. If you are a fan of this by all means spend the money. It's well worth it in my opinion. I know there are fans that swear by the mono version but this is definately the best thing so far for a stero version and i don't think it will ever be better than this....

Thanks for the heads up. I've recently been enjoying the Smile (mono) release, and reading your recommendation of the new Pet Sounds stereo version's superiority to the existing one has made it a must have!
