Julian Cope presents Head Heritage

Those of us of a classical bent will have been saddened by the death yesterday of the German baritone Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, one of the greatest singers of the twentieth century and whose gargantuan discography of lieder, cantata and opera recordings is one of the marvels of the gramophone era.

I'll play his majesterial performance of Britten's War Requiem in his memory this afternoon.
