http://www.viagogo.co.uk/Concert-Tickets/Hard-Rock-Metal/Rush-Tickets

£92 [gulp] though £60 seems to have been mentioned elsewhere

2013
Wed May 22nd Manchester Arena
Fri May 24th London, O2 Arena
Sun May 26th Birmingham, LG Arena
Tues May 28th Sheffield, Motorpoint Arena
Thurs May 30th Glasgow, SECC

seems to be some sort of special London thing going on from tomorrow

edit although £92 isn't that shocking these days I have tickets for Cope,Spiritualized and Patti Smith that together are less than that, or for slightly more Springsteen,Cope & Spiritualized

Never again. At least not until the investment in the sound quality matches the care taken over the visuals. I know Mooncat had a much better time than I did but to my ears it was a two hour drum solo with the rest of the band playing out back by the bins.

Did you get anywhere with that Spiritualized album?

last time I saw Rush, which was quite a while ago [Signals tour] the sound was spot on. I was chatting to a sound guy recently on a big arena show who said the sound was set up via a computer, lasers and test signals, basically you couldn't fuck it up if you tried, it even adjusted for empty hall/crowded hall so you'd think Rush could get it right

I'm quite enjoying the new Spiritualized, it is another good Spz cd and has a nice flow to it as though it has been given thought as a listening experience, not just a buch of tunes, gave the L&GWAFIS and the Albert Hall Cd a listen the other day and felt it if they were a 10 then it rated a 7.5. It seems a bit more of a 70s rock album than the usual 60s garage and he has dropped the gospel choirs, be interesting to see if they muscle it up a bit live, the last track 'So Long You Pretty Things' has a distinct 'jam/freakout ending' possibility IMHO.I've yet to see them anything less than stellar live so I'm looking forward to it, same band who did the LAG shows , let them off the leash it should be killer.
I'm probably over fond of them and willing to turn a blind eye to their faults but I rate the CD, not sure how many more they can make like this though, maybe if Jason could possibly stop dying every 5 minutes and learn some more chords besides Amin,C,G and the names Honey,Mary & Jesus his scope would be a little broader

Hmmm. Have to see. Saw 'em twice last time out and they were great, though the Manchester Show had much better sound then the London one, which I was surprised at.

In the meantime, the new album is coming out in June and they're doing one of those bells n whistles and shiny baubles fan-pack things which I know I'll be very tempted by. The two new songs they played on the last tour were really good I thought and if it matches the quality of "Snakes & Arrows" I'll be very happy.

If £92 isn't that bad, then my concert going days are over. No way I'd pay that to risk less than two hours of shit, echoey sound in a modern arena.

I'd rather watch a covers band in the pub for free. The beer'd be cheaper too. And in real glasses!

Save your money, stop at home and bung 'All The World's A Stage' on your hifi. You'll still have a great time.

Doing Birmingham & from the 3rd track they've made available the album sounds pretty good.

In comparison to other arena gigs the price is about the going rate I guess, tho still makes me shudder....

On others' comments, I'm really surprised about the comments on the sound - they've always sounded great when I've seen 'em. And I don't think less than 2hrs music is gonna happen - I've never seen Rush play less than 2hrs & have been to every tour bar one since 1979....

That said, I can really understand folks not going. But as every tour could be their last & this one is for a new album, I didn't think twice!

I will certainly get the record but that night pretty much killed my enthusiasm for seeing old-time acts in big venues. Perhaps it was the sound, perhaps it was the eye watering ticket prices, perhaps it was the sight of an oddly svelte and merch-bedecked Adrian Chiles looming towards us in the circle of lard hell that is the concession area at the O2. Perhaps it was the awful feeling that caring about these kinds of acts at all in the 21st century was itself an exercise in futility and financial self flagellence. Even Mooncat's excellent company couldn't save me from feeling like the unwitting victim of a 37 year practical joke. As I say, it was a bad night for innocent pleasures!

Could'nt agree more. £92 is seriously taking the piss. These type of prices are an insult to the genuine fan base of any band, and paying them will only encourage even more outrageous demands in the future.
