Greetings fellow long-hairs, short-hairs, no-hairs, Anyone or two of you heard the new remasters yet? As you probably know, Meister Gottsching himself has done these reissues on his own label. Available for a while through his website, they are now being unleashed via the usual channels at around $15 to $20 a pop. I'm cautiously hopeful, as I've always felt the spalax pressings of the first album and Join Inn left much to be desired, but before shelling out I'd love to get yr two cents... Z.

CD remasters only sadly. I'd be interested too though as my Spalax vinyl reissue (1997) of 1st likewise is disappointing- thin and tinny. However if this extremely wishful thinking ebay listing is anything remotely like realistic then I'd SELL SELL SELL and take a chance on those remasters! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ash-Ra-Tempel-Ash-Ra-Tempel-Vinyl-LP-Reissue-2004-LP-14144-/360417013644?pt=UK_Records&hash=item53ea872f8c#ht_3504wt_1164 mad eh?

Yes, please reissue on vinyl. Why a reissue from 8 years ago is worth that much, I cannot fathom. Maybe we can petition him.

It is not clear what the sources were, which means possible needle drops. They are more compressed.

I bought Inventions for Electric Guitar remastered and it was 99.9% exactly the same as the Spalax CD. Same levels, dynamic range, etc. If Manuel did remaster it he tweaked it so minimally I don't think anyone could tell the difference and I'm sure he used the Spalax CD as a source. I heard this was the same on some of the ART albums too. If anyone has an ART remastered album that they think is significant different to the Spalax I'd like to try it.

It's really a shame the Mom 'n Dad label never got round to releasing Hapmoniym volumes 6-15 as they initially said they'd be doing.

I'm hearing the remaster of "Schwingungen". A little level of hiss aside, is the same shitty sound of others reissues, it doesn't beat even the awful mix of Cleopatra's edition. Manuel Göttsching, you are treating the fans like crap, damn!
