Bong - Mana Yood Sushai. I've not listened to much this week, partly as I've been too busy, and partly as this has been on heavy rotation. Lovely! I understand what Cope says in this months Drudion - I loved the dense fug of Beyond Ancient Space but the clearer studio sound, matching the blue of the sleeve (compared to the nicotine brown of BAS) is fine by me.

Comus - First Utterance. Ordered the new one but didn't arrive before the Early May Bank Holiday (www.direct.gov.uk) so had to make do with listening to this. The other day on here I read a debate about Electric Eden - I'm sure Ian B et al are absoulutely right but I'm indebted to that book for alerting me to this record (and late 80s Talk Talk - who'd have thought!).

Datashock - Pyramiden von Giessen. Still listen to this lots - one of my favourite 2011 records, a superb contemporary Krautrock LP. The pacing over the double album is fantastic, not least as it was all played live by about 8 or so musicians - love the way it incorporates electronics, folk, blues etc but sounds unique. Great stuff.

White Hills - Hp-1 and Frying on this Rock. Still listening to both these as well.

Ramones - 1st. Had to put Blitzkrieg Bop on before heading to the pub to watch the Newcastle match (it's usually played before kick off at St James). Shame we couldn't beat City but nevermind, great season.
