though it may have been rateyourmusic's listings that had me seeing that there was a 2009 digipack reissue
http://rateyourmusic.com/artist/area
of at least a couple of the lps.
Couldn't see any mention of the discs on sale when they came out, but they got reviewed in a couple of places.
& maybe I just took Wayside's lack of knowledge of a remastered version as gospel, when i asked them if they had them. & should have kept looking elsewhere. Could have the whole set by now. But at the time I asked everywhere if anybody knew anything about remasters and nobody said anything.
Oh there's also a box set listed on the bandsite. All the Demetrios Stratos era cds plus some other nice bits and bobs. But I think the cds from that version are all copy protected so I wouldn't be able to add them to my walkman as I'd hope to.
Very surprised that Forcedexposure and Reccommended don't seem to be carrying any of their material and Aquarius have things listed in past tense.
The 2009 reissue almost exactly duplicates the 1989 cd releases' matrix numbers running from CRSCD 001-005 as opposed to CRSCD001-005 as in number with gap for 2009 release versus number without for the earlier version. Which confuses things greatly too and i couldn't find anything online saying anything about improved sound. just been told that by somebody from the bandsite but looks like p+p is much better from SoundOhm.
Alyourmusic who advertise on amazon marketplace a great deal are selling at least Caution Radiation Area through ebay too. May be doing it through Amazon at some point too.
but if there was no improvement in sound over the version i had there wasn't much point in buying any. Now I've found out there is I need to work out what is essential by them. Definitely impressed by the 1st 2 lps, and now Crac! too not sure beyond that.
