Mommy, What's a Funkadelic?

Thanks for clearing that one up, Georgy-Worge. I was wondering.

Oh yeah, Bo Diddley practically made a living off these things.

The Birthday Party - "Happy Birthday" (?)

Don't know about self-mythologising, since the lyrics are about a 12 year old boy. think that this was one of the influences in the name change from Boys Next Door as the band were called when it was written. That, Harold Pinter and maybe a band member's birthday coinciding with the trip over from Australia to London. Last is very likely apocryphal but it was one suggestion I remember hearing around the time.
