Seeing Sonny Rollins at Ronnies back in '74 brought memories of first hearing Jazz bagpipes on BRMB when they had a jazz show 'kelly's eye'

He toured with Ken Kesey back in '98. Several Merry Pranksters did a talking tour and he was with them for some reason.
Probably the musical part of the show. Can't remember much of it beyond Kesey playing Theremin.

I think there's another guy called Robin Kenyatta who also recorded playing jazz bagpipes. Name sticks in my head cos of the first leader of Kenya, though the name apparently it had more to do with a belt or something than the country.

Re-Creation of the Gods is pretty cool. Some of those tracks get into quite a singular Can-like groove at times. Weirdly, I wish the pipes were more omnipresent on that LP. The couple of songs without them weren't so interesting.
