Moon Cat wrote: A belated offering but... Lords of Falconry. They proffer a kind of garagey take on psych-rock n roll. In fact, there's a discernable Cope/Brain Donor vibe going on in them there grooves. Completely coincidentally, I've just been listening to their album for the first time- another cheap impulse buy in the Edgeworld sale. Really good; heavy psych rock for sure, some goth-grebo elements too, and doesn't the singer sound like Dave Vanian? I second recommendations for The Heads, Mugstar, Teeth of the Sea and Hookworms, who were amazing live in Brighton last weekend. Big up too for Medicine and Duty, prolific Brighton freak-improv-noise trio headed by Matt from Teeth of the Sea. And another LP I've been enjoying is by a band called Twinkranes, about whom I know nothing except it's on Twisted Nerve and is somewhere between Wooden Shjips and very early (Drop / Strange Daydreams era) Shamen.

The Lords of Falconry album is good indeed. A minor gripe is that when the singer is in that Vanian/Iggy low-end kinda range he sounds fine but there's a couple of moments where he tries to be a bit more, shall we say, 'singery' and the wheels come off a bit.

Another belated entry...The Chasms http://www.thechasms.co.uk/ At the noisy end, but charming nonetheless. And far out. Proper psychedelic like.

Cool! I'll be sniffing that tomorrow I hope. Manchester based (it sez here). Up for a pint sometime? (God, that sounded terribly Alan Partridge I know)
