Squid Tempest wrote: Thanks for that -- I see they have another new record out. Cathode Ray Eyes: never heard of it before, but one of the Dom Keller guitarists is also in Spectrum!

If you like Wooden Shjips you may - if you haven't already heard them - like Hookworms (a young Leeds based group recommended previously by others on this website as well as Mr Cope) who have the same Suicide style vocal reverb thang along with an unmistakable Kraut drone influence.

surprised Hey Colossus haven't had a mention yet (not being biased). but for me, they're one of the most interesting uk based bands of the last 5-10 years (or whatever it's been). always putting out something interesting and not resting in any set genre. which sadly may be their problem in terms of not being able to pigeonhole em. i like the description that they sound like Neu meets Hawkwind meets Faust meets Eyehategod meets Ash Ra Tempel meets Melvins. it covers a lot of bases http://youtu.be/jPLkRjk3IBc http://youtu.be/K6NlxDCxbSY http://youtu.be/VyJIWuZ18nA http://youtu.be/6rqTZ-jzz5g http://youtu.be/8xvJV8SfXyQ http://youtu.be/05wWGvfjh6g

Great band, full of stoned out / spaced heavyness. Is there any album of them on CD?

A belated offering but... Lords of Falconry. They proffer a kind of garagey take on psych-rock n roll. In fact, there's a discernable Cope/Brain Donor vibe going on in them there grooves.
