Cheers. Music and beer are such natural partners that it seemed obvious to start pairing them

I've decided to start alternating between beers that can be found in one of the big 4 supermarkets and something a little more obscure - that way I can appear cool & trendy but still come across as a man of the people ;o)

This week is a supermarket week

I'm a big fan of Imperial stouts and heavily hopped American style IPAs and Rochefort 10 is also one of my favourite beers

My fav beer of last year was Black Tokyo Horizon - a stout brewed in collaboration by BrewDog, Mikkeller and Nogne O... still got a couple of bottles on the shelf

Still debating if I should go to London next weekend for the Mikkeller session at BrewDog Camden...

I like the idea of alternating weeks. It'll be good to be able to get hold of at least some of the beers you write about. Any chance of giving the heads up on the next week's beer so that I can get hold of it and drink it while reading the article?

That Black Tokyo Horizon was much too pricey for me. I don't know what you paid for the bottles you snagged, but I wasn't prepared to drop €16 on one bottle of beer, regardless of its ABV or limited nature.

Its release also coincided with some burgeoning disdain for the gimmickry of Brew Dog on my part. They need to work on their core range a little more and stop releasing the novelty seasonals so often, imo.

I'm sure that once the new BrewDog brewery comes online (late this year hopefully) the core range beers will be consistently back to their best and the old brewery can be used to create the weird and wonderful
