This makes for a facinating read and a very interesting project. This has to be a real labour of love. If I recall Bruce Robinson was able to use While My Guitar Gently Weeps because George Harrison financially backed the film. Re the Hendrix tracks I am sure I read in Bruce Robinson's autobiography that either Polydor or the Hendrix Estate (then controlled by Alan Douglas) asked for £47000 a second for each of the Hendrix tracks included in the film, hence the reason why they are so short and why inferior live versions are included on the official soundtrack albums.

All the tracks are in and the presses are primed and ready to roll.
To dial-your-own Withnail soundtrack collection, simply apply by e-mail stating which tracks you'd like, the order that you'd like them in and which source(s)/versions (from cassette or cd where available) of these to be used, and where you'd like your disc sending.

My beautifully packaged copy has just turned up, thanks so much for this. Listening now, my flat is appropriately cold today(though not in Camden). Each associated scene is leaping out of my memory as I listen - makes you realise what an important contribution the soundtrack made to the overall production. I'm off to find my embrocation.
