Read a classic vinyl albums article a few weeks back and decided to pick up a copy of Hot Buttered Soul which seems to be rated as a career high for the man. Gotta say I love the one original track on it "Hyperbolicsyllabicsesquedalymistic" and his ambitious rendition of the Bacharach standard "Walk On By" but finding the second side kinda too Barry White for my tastes. I guess being more a funkateer than soul man Shaft would be the next place to investigate but I am interested what other records by the late great man do others rate round here?
