WHat about the Manchester Jazz Festival? Their definition of 'jazz' is very broad - trad to rockier fare -and it'd be a good showcase for up North.

Hmmm... Thanks for the heads up, Moon Cat, but the application deadline was January 9th, according to their website. Bum.
I have a few applications pending elsewhere, of course - including one in the land of the Supercat - which has already got me an enthusiastic reply from one of the team!
