Thanks to whoever the resident Rune Grammofon expert is on this forum for flagging Shoot! by HMT - really loving its Terje Rypdal meets Budgie vibe!

For those who like smart rocking heavy guitar-led jazz, I strongly recommend you check 'em: http://soundcloud.com/hedvigmollestadtrio

I already know and dig Motorpsycho, but what else on RG should I be listening to?

Would imagine you'll probably want this one that's just been released:

Hedvig is also playing on this one along with some of the Supersilent/Elephant 9 guys.

Great. Brought back memories of the Elephant 9 session at the BBC from last year:

Maybe its got a later release date for the UK CD. You can order directly from RuneG in Norway and it's on the download sites (Play, Amazon, Emusic, Itunes etc).

Hi Deep - they released that session on vinyl only. Don't have it but i'm tempted now that you've reminded me!

http://www.runegrammofon.com/artists/elephant9/rlp-2118-elephant9-live-at-the-bbc-lp/

At the same time as their triumphant and memorable concert with Motorpsycho in London in November 2010 they popped into BBC for a "Jazz on 3" session. Widely considered to be one of Norway´s best live bands, this album shows the high degree of musicianship in this trio, all tracks being first takes and without any editing whatsoever. Elephant9 is as always Ståle Storløkken (Supersilent, Humcrush) on Hammond organ and Fender Rhodes, Nikolai Eilertsen (Big Bang) on bass and Torstein Lofthus (Shining) on drums. Look out for their new studio album with Dungen guitarist Reine Fiske next summer.

Vinyl only release in a numbered, limited edition of only 500. White vinyl.
