Yeah, that was on the vinyl run out too, though they've erased it from the CD replacement I bought several years ago, much to my chagrin when I was making a mixtape awhile ago (wanted it as a segue between trax).

That was a great tape release 'Sky's Gone Out', it had the live album 'Press The Eject...' on the B-side too, great value for money.

They also cut short the 'Satori In Paris' 7" intro when it was put as an extra on another CD remaster. One of my fav' Bauhaus live releases, great version of 'Waiting For The Man' featuring Nico on vocal duties alongside Pete Murphy.

The same thing happened to the 'Dark Star' dialogue bit of the original FAST 'Being Boiled' B-Side 'Circus of Death' by the The Human League when they remastered it for CD. I miss those quirky little 'oddities' that were thrown on the end of albums..

Think The Cure live 'Concert & Curiosity' tape had a bunch of out-takes and alt.versions on the B-side as well, though I think they've been released elsewhere since. They also put the soundtrack 'Carnage Visors' on the B-side of another cassette release. Good value for money back then.

Still got those Select' Secret Tracks cassettes upstairs, will post em' on my blog at some point. There's a far superior version (IMO) of Sabres Of Paradise single 'Theme' on one of the tapes. There was also one of those 'Radio 1 Sound City' for Sheffield that had an exclusive instrumental by Broadcast called 'Misc' from Select mag, though a pal tells me it's now available on the iTunes version of 'Future Crayon', so maybe not that hard to find anymore.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but i seem to recall that the Blast First compilation 'Nothing Short Of Total War' had a few differing tracks on the Cassette to the vinyl release.

Yeah, Omnia Opera did the same thing too. Crazy dayglo psychedelics for covers. Think those Ozrics tapes have been released on CD since, 'Sliding and Gliding' is still one of my fav' Ozrics tracks.

I have two mailorder only Cassettes that were released by Levitation.

Both were ltd to 800 copies....One being Demos 89-91 and containing two songs that don't appear anywhere else "Day By Day" and "Origins"
This comes in a lovely Psychedelic numbered foldout inlay.

The other Cassette is a live gig recorded 29/2/92 and has a blurred colour pic of the Band and this too is numbered.

A great Band who got a bit of a raw deal from the press, but what's new?

I think both of those have since appeared on Dime. I put the 29/2/92 set on my walkman last week.
Pretty good stuff.

Ah well.

If it's of any interest, 'Party Of The First Part'

about 2:30 in from the start.

I've got a 2cd Comp called "Afterswish" which is made up of a load of the cassette stuff. Not sure how complete it is, but there's a fair amount on it.
