I know, this looks incredible!!

Has anyone ever been to it? Anyone from the UK? I'm seriously thinking of taking a trip there for my 40th birthday in April but would need a lot more info. No idea how much it'd all cost, where to stay, how to book? If anyone can provide any insight then it's be HUGELY appreciated.

It could well be that I go on my own but I'm unsure. Shite personal life after a marriage breakdown late last year so I'm in need of sunshine and great vibes.

I went last year and it was pretty great I must say.

This year's lineup doesn't have as big names at the top (Roky Erikson & Sonic Boom!!) but the bench looks deeper -- nice to see they've got Sun Araw and Peaking Lights in there (not enough "underground" stuff last year I thought, too many "mere rock bands").

So . . . I just might have to go again this year!!

Think a ticket for the weekend is only about $100 if you order early. That's about $2 per band!

Austin in general is tons of fun (extra-specially for music geeks!) It's very tourist-friendly, so finding a hotel etc is easy enough.

Cheers Squid. Quite the opposite of OK but getting by is what I have to do. Tough tough times especially as there's a 3 year old daughter involved as well. Peeps keep saying that things will get better......I bloody hope so. Meeting some psyche loving dames would be a start ;-)

Do you live in the US or UK? I've heard nothing but great things about Austin and the music/social scene there so it's giving me the itch to splash the cash and go. Not that I have the cash to splash but there you go.....there may be ways.......ways that willleave me skint and owing but you only live once right.
