I've been playing bass and making music since I was 13 and up to the age of 45 it is no exageration to dsay that virtually everything I touched was pretty crap so I think the credit probably lies more with the chemistry with my new colleagues than with me. As you will appreciate having a superbly inventive drummer to play with makes a huge difference. That and 25 years of working with drum programmers and producers who wanted to quantize anything that moved somewhat stunted my growth!

Every drummer worth his salt needs a corresponding bassist - and vice versa. An ill matched rhythm section leaves the rest of a band struggling to lock down a nice live and engaging groove for its listeners, I think.

I played 'Moon Bathing' from Lunar Dunes' second album 'Galaxsea', in what proved to be a pretty bonkers evening. To say the very least. Hopefully it was worth persevering with, following a... rather unique opening.

Hedlite considered the first few minutes of the interview "comedy gold", as we struggled with feedback and echo from the Skype link. It felt like years in a weird cave to us, mind!
