Not much appealed to me this year, but I did manage to source the Tangerine Dream 'Ultima Thule' 7" (the one thing I was really drooling for) and 'Electronic Meditation' LP. Unfortunately the pressing quality of both is dire, and I'm going to have to get a refund on the LP (needless to say, no straight exchange available). I'll keep the single though, cos I won't find another, and I don't otherwise have those tracks. But I'm really disappointed.

I also got Thea Gilmore's 'London' 45 and The Wedding Present's '4 Chansons' EP, both of which are decent pressings quality wise. I was pleased to note that the singles seem a bit cheaper this year, though six quid a 45 is still a bit steep. The aforementioned Tangs LP was priced between £21 and £24 at the three outlets I visited, which is bloody shocking, especially considering the shite quality of the pressing. I paid £5 for my CD of the same title ten years or so ago - which I'm now happy to content myself with in the circumstances.

One of the Newcastle shops involved in the promotion had a half-hour long queue outside of it for most of the morning, mostly consisting of middle-aged men with lists in their hands. I was one of them!
