I know what you mean! But in the end no energy was required - it just kind of seeps and crawls into you, it's that slow and long!!

Nah - I think you are missing something. It might take a few plays to uncover it, but underneath the scuzzy lo-fi exterior there's a gifted classic pop songwriter at work.

I can see where you're both coming from TBH. Can't say i was totally engaged by what i heard but then again i don't think the sonics on my computer can really do them justice either . That said, what i heard reminded me a bit of MGMT's Congratulations, albeit on a 50p budget. Or maybe listening to the evening programs on Radio 1 c.1980 after overdoing the Liberty Caps. Some good hooks and melodies underlay the general fuckedupness of it all, so as you mentioned, i'm pretty certain repeated plays would bring a greater appreciation too. Next up, The Phantom Band.
