I saw Four Tet live too, and there were times when I felt like leaving, too. I think it got a bit better as it went on, but even so...I guess I'm too old school to get much pleasure out of watching a bloke stand behind a computer. Animal Collective didn't do a lot live for me either. Anyway, 4T's records are another thing entirely though. There Is Love In You is pretty damn good IMO. The second track on it (Love Cry) is a cracker!

A couple that I'd add to my list are - The Soundcarriers/ Celeste (a gorgeous album in the Stereolab and Broadcast realm to some degree) Cathedral/ The Guessing Game (someone else's addition of this to their list reminded me of it. Gotta love any album that titles so many songs based on classic Eurohorror masterworks and actors... such as Edwidge's Eyes ((referring to Italian giallo and sex comedy siren Edwidge Fenech)) Ghost Ships of the Blind Dead (the Blind Dead series of movies are truly creepy if hampered by budgetary limitations)). Wanted to add the Charlotte Gainsbourg album IRM but its apparently a bit older than I'd have thought...

Five wrote: uh (c'mon, culture, you can do better than this!!) hello Five, I was finally able to order your cassette from Cosmic Primitive Checkout. I now have a handsome and impressive sounding deck - this should be exciting. I think there's all kinds of culture, at least near where I live. It's easy to miss and it doesn't get promoted. It seems in lieu of cultural heroes the recent icons (ikons?) are often anti-heroic, the idea being encourage people to be shameless feel good about themselves; purchase goods and services. On the brighter side: actual music always stands out and takes on a life outside of product or even numbers of downloads. Oh yes, records of 2010. Maybe I''ll decide later
