true. the US lp of Meat is Murder always had How Soon Is Now on as the first song on side two since its 1985 release here. Leaving a single off an album makes the record company very nervous - integrity in the US is apparently not as important as selling LPs. it doesn't hurt the album in any sense. that also had Barbarism begins at Home on it, which is probably the worst thing they ever did.

Morrissey reckoned the worst thing they did was the New York mix of This Charming Man as a dance track -- that is pretty awful. But the 12 inch is completely redeemed by Wonderful Woman, their best ever song. who can forget a line like "i'm starved of mirth/let's go and trip a dwarf"

but alas, thanks to the litigious Mike Joyce, no Smiths reunion is ever gonna happen, unfortunately...
