I actually really like Hanky Panky. It was one of those albums I bought and listened to a couple of times before it got filed away on the shelf and started to gather dust. Then a couple of years later I put it on out of curiosity and fell in love with it.

Matt Johnson has made some of my all-time favourite albums and it's a real shame he's not exactly prolific. Kind of the Thomas Pynchon of music -- one release every seven years or so. But it tends to be worth waiting for. It's been 9 years since his last studio album, and with the exception of a single or two, we've only got his Radio Cinéola Podcasts to fill the void until the next one. Whenever it might be.

... waiting for the night voices to sound...

Hanky panky was an album I really didn't get on release. Heard him do a few bits from it live on the naked self tour and, like you, dug it out again. Now love it.

Soul mining, infected, mind bomb are the soundtrack of my youth. Come on Matt, new album, new tour.
