One of my favourite records of all time is In the Townships by Dudu Pukwana & Spear on Caroline Records (Virgin subsidury) that is unavailable on CD so far as I know. Harry Beckett played on it and at the Roundhouse on a bill with Gong and the Globs.

Sad sad. I had his Warm Smiles LP on RCA, when they (the company) were chucking their money about. He was a great horn player, like Marc Charig but just kept his head to the ground steady like. I wonder if any of the BBC Jazz programmes mentioned his passing.
