The Bowie Genius Thread

Very funny!

Some ridiculously pompous responses and classic knee-jerk reactions.

I love H2H because it is eye-opening and predictable in equal measure.

And we haven't had Red's input yet!!

That's what makes us so 'us'.

Red's gone off him now, I believe.

Not to mention the obligatory massive thread diversion into theoretical territory. Great stuff!

Yes, I was about to say Budge aren't even fit to be mentioned in the same breath as DB and then I remembered it was me who mentioned them!

I'm just off to argue with myself. I'll be back when I've given myself a good talking to.

The old trouper is a bit Marmite, isn't he? I love him, but my brother can't stand the fecker. Fair enough. And you're right. It's great to see a daft slanging match emerging from it. Specially when it ends up being about Budgie (Who the fuck?)

Dame David (TM Smash Hits) has got to be one of the ultimate "I only like the early stuff..." artists.

Which is as moveable as he is. Scary Monsters used to be derided as the real start of the slip. Now Let's Dance is getting serious re-appraisal.

Can't wait to be proven right about Tin Machine :-)

What the Lower 3rd? Deram anthony Newley?

yeah much better than the avant weirdness innit? ;-)

do have a soft spot for the 60s stuff though.

Had a '72 set from cleveland on yesterday and seriously regretted only having part of it. assume it must've been before I got an increase in d/ld speed and it timed out. so I had only some of the tracks and even there only had part of a few of the individual ones.

My brother was a fan from about 73 or so. Certainly seemed that way but he would have been 9 or 10 at the time. So I grew up with him being played a lot. Plus his birthday's the day before mine.

Always loved Images which is roughly the Deram anthology.
But he had a good decade didn't he?
