Trying some Arvo Part right now, is alright, been finding Max Richter a bit too melancholy, dont need a downer on my mood when am trying to write essay stuff. Will give gavin wosisname a go later. Find Steve Reich erm, intrusive somehow, which is ok when I want that but I don't right now!

Yeah, Reich can be intrusive but I've always found working to his music to be great. Particularly coding, as I am now (annoyingly), I'm working through his 'Counterpoints'. Gavin Bryars though, don't start with 'Jesus Blood..' or 'The sinking of the Titanic'. Try 'Farewell to philosophy' (has some great things on the CD 'By the Vaar' and 'one last bar, then joe can sing'), 'After the Requiem' or 'The Last Days'.
