2 new albums just released:

Cats & Mice - a live recording from 2009 and very good, though not essential.

Crooked - new material recorded between 2007 & 2009 and for me it's one of her best solo efforts for some time. Instrumentally it's just her and all the better for it, her voice is in good shape (it's been criticised for becoming too raw following the excesses of 50 Foot wave) and I would put this up there with Hips & Makers.

Hips and Makers - thanks for reminding me. I used to love that album and I haven't heard it in years. My copy eneded up permanently residing with an ex-girlfriend. I'll track it down along with TMs Real Ramona. Any other suggestions re. her solo albums ?

Thanks for the news - may check this out. I have Hips and Makers and one Throwing Muses record (University). I love her voice on those and have good memories of a solo show she did in Madrid in a lovely intimate old theatre.

Kristin has regularly put out live albums, kind of mileposts in her solo work. My personal favourite is Live At Noe Valley Ministry from 2003, where she is in splendid live form, delivers a great selection of songs and provides some of the funniest between song stories that it's been my pleasure to laugh at.

50 Foot Wave is Kristin's other major project and it tends to polarise people somewhat. I love it, but I'm a sucker for noisy guitars.

Try this:

50 Foot Wave: Clara Bow

EDIT

As Hips & Makers was mentioned earlier, this is 50 Foot Wave's take on Your Ghost:

50 Foot Wave: Your Ghost

Fantastic, cheers for the heads up Jon. I bought those 4 acoustic re-recordings CDRs off her website a couple of months back, they're really good.
