John Peel's chip off the old block Tom Ravenscroft is on 6 Music this Sunday (14th March) and the Sunday after from 14.00-15.30.
His previous shows standing in for Tom Robinson have been killer so check it out in between your Sunday Roast and Jarvis Cocker if you can be arsed.

i just had t robinson on while i was cooking + he made a point of playing t ravenscroft's MUST HAVE 2010 record ... totally + uttelry wretched (called something like "BRIGHT BRIGHT" by bAND CALLED dark dark ... I shit you not)... like mobile phone ad music ... ugh!
but i prefer TR to marc riley (i tend only to listen to R6 on our little DAB that lives in the kitchen when i'm cooking) cuz his remit seems more eclectic, even if MR will often throw in something pretty classic for an old git like myself from time to time ... but there's only so much indie i can take before i flip to 1tra for more fun cooking kicks

I do exactly the same with 6music on the little dab radio in the kitchen. I ended up with Craig Charles a few times in the evenings though, wasn't sure if i was watching red dwarf, corrie or at a midnight at the oasis style 80s soul night.
Maybe Tom is taking after his Dad, I'm sure John would probably be playing a mobile phone tone followed by the latest burzum then into dubstep and I'm thinking teenage kicks and the fall would also still be on heavy rotation!

I bow to noone in my fanboyness of John Peel, but to be fair he did play some cack amongst the gold.
I've never listened to 6 Music. Don't know why really. I haven't really listened to music on the radio since Peel died and Mixing It got binned.
