Our "Andy" and our "Les" at the station are both female -- one looks like Excene Cervenka and the other like Kim Deal, maybe that's better? ;-)

This week on the KR program (Feb 19): Celebrate the birthdays of BLACK SABBATH's Tony Iommi (60 today!) and YOKO ONO who just turned 77! If you've never heard Yoko's "free rock" masterpiece PLASTIC ONO BAND, here's a chunk! Plus new heavynis from all around the globe -- you may know HHer's NEOTOPIA and SOLUS 3 -- also dig MATT STEVENS, MONDO DRAG, MOON DUO, TRAD GRAS OCH STENAR, HIMALAYA, LIGHTNING BOLT, JOOKABOX, FUCK BUTTONS, CLOUDS, AHOORA (from Iran!) and some old dude with the ridiculous name JIMI HENDRIX (sic) who has a new record coming out soon. Next week: scratchy vinyl oldies for pledge drive! Podcast, playlists, blah blah: http://www.kosmikradiation.com/

This week on Kosmik Radiation (Mar 12) -- SLY STONE's birthday is this week! (I just read he filed a $50 million lawsuit against his old manager a month or so ago, and allegedly has signed a contract to release a new album in 2010!! Could he really come back?!) But folks around here may be more interested in a bunch of recent releases which have had their own threads on this forum -- sample these if you haven't heard yet: JIMI HENDRIX - VALLEYS OF NEPTUNE GONJASUFI - A SUFI AND A KILLER MONDO DRAG - NEW RITUALS MOON DUO - ESCAPE YOKO ONO PLASTIC ONO BAND - BETWEEN MY HEAD AND THE SKY Plus also new stuff from FOUR-TET, QUASI, TED LEO and a dynamite collaboration by JIMI TENOR & TONY ALLEN (hot shit if you dig FELA and SUN RA!!) The 4am fusionfest features mostly electric axemen JOHN MCLAUGHLIN and JOHN ABERCROMBIE. Online in the archive for 2 weeks: http://www.kosmikradiation.com/archive.htm
