One of the most unsung of

Good call!

Happy Birthday indeed

I really need to dig out 'Chewing...' soon, due for a dust-off

Yes!

most of his cds OOP, would be great to have a reissue or box, revenant would be ideal for this.

I will be humming the severely rustic sounding 'Estrella from the astral plane' off the first Chilli Willi LP, down the M1 - the one with a mammy 'Carmen Miranda' nipples like rivits c/o B.Bubbles Esq on the cover.

Beat me to it Deep. And I'm replaying in my head the happy memories of many Chilli's gigs with Phil at the pedal steel and Martin on telecaster.
I've not actually heard any of the later Snakefinger solo stuff. Where should I start?

If you can locate a copy of
Chewing Hides The Sound (1979) Ralph Records
that's the ideal intro into the solo years , sadly
everything is OOP at the moment .
