THE AFFECTIONATE PUNCH – Associates

PEEL SESSION – Bourgie Bourgie

LOVE IS THE WAVE 7” – Crystal Stilts
Really good recent single. Very JAMC!

S/T – The Grails
Really good on initial plays. Good opening track, Natural Man reminds me of some old soundtrack number that I can’t quite name at the moment, and Silk Rd is especially great. The only number I’m not that keen at the moment is Acid Rain which sounds uncomfortably like some Pink Floyd yawnfest to these ears, but otherwise...yeah!

PRIMARY COLOURS – The Horrors

SOMETHING CAME UP – Mekon
Includes guests like Alan Vega, Marc Almond, Roxanne Shante, etc.

TOMORROW TODAY – Seeland
Definitely one of my fave albums this year.

JUMP START SHUT OUT 7” - Stereolab

THE EARTH TAVERN 7/2/78 – Television
Rough and ready recording, but great performances. Thanks, Mr!

KNOWLE WEST BOY – Tricky
I've been playing this loads of late. Past Mistake is fab. Take away the big 80’s drums and you are left with an almost Joy Division-like melancholia. It’s like an The Eternal for the noughties.

VARIOUS A&B-SIDES – T.Rex
Great to hear the likes of Thunderwing and Jitterbug Love again on my ipod. Solid Gold Easy Action now sounds almost like an early punk single. I must have been in the mood for Bolan because even Truck On (Tyke) – one of my least fave T.Rex 45’s – sounded truly great!
