I have a pair of (unworn) socks from a Pavement tour in mid-nineties. A good mate of mine was their sound guy and bought me them back off a tour. Apparently the band had such stinky feet that there was tour rule that no-one was allowed to wear the same pair of socks twice, so there was a huge supply of these special socks for them to wear.
For some reason they still languish at the back of my sock drawer to this day. I think I keep more as a way of remembering the mate in question (who is now dead) rather than any particular fetish for Pavement's cheesy feet.
