Major let-downs...

The Ting Tings at The Village
just no energy to the set at all. Contrasted with Los Campesinos! (a far less well-known "new band" who played a few weeks earlier), it was as good a highlight of "there's no justice in the music industry" as I ever saw.

Tom Waits in Phoenix Park
from what I could tell, Tom was on great form and put on one of the best performances of the year. Sadly the promoter had stuck him in a venue about 5 times too big for the sound system. People shuffling their feet, four rows back, were drowning out the sound.


EDIT: Hopefully Stereolab will get added to the top list rather than the bottom one this Saturday.
