Former '60's Blue Things leader issued solo album, 1968 'Grey Life'

Heavily orchestrated melancholic folk rock with a nod to Everlies and Orbison

Nick Drake, Scott Walker, Syd Barrett, and Bill Fay all travelled this territory a few years later and now are lionized. Stoecklein is forgotten. I believe this is on par with their work, a few years earlier.


At the very least this is a great Roy Orbison album not made.

Definitely worth a listen.
