Re: The Clash. The Best band ever ?

I grew up on punk at the start of my teens, and it'll live with me forever. The Clash were one of the most original bands to come out of that era.
I struggle to decide on the best, but the first Clash album, known as the "White Riot" LP has to be one of the best albums of all time. I think they went downhill after that. That's not to say their other albums were crap, it's just that none of theirs came up to the same standard.
In terms of the great, individual-sounding albums of the time (1976-79), and in no particular order:-

"White Riot" - The Clash
"Separates" - 999
"Do it Dog Style" - Slaughter and the Dogs
"Never Mind the Bollocks" - Sex Pistols
"Crossing the Red Sea with the Adverts" - The Adverts
"Another Music in a Different Kitchen" - Buzzcocks
"Fulham Fallout" - The Lurkers
"Moving Targets" - Penetration
"Live at the Witch Trials" - The Fall
"Inflammable Material" - Stiff Little Fingers

None of the above had any sound-alikes, or if they did, they didn't sound like them.
I could go on......
Any opinions on these?
