This thread is too depressing to read all of (in a thread about Nico, imagine that!) but, I'm in Nige's corner. She was an astoundingly original talent and really only came into her own after VU. Cale did what he did but c'mon, he didn't write those transfixing songs.

OH I'd forgotten about that -- thanks for reposting. I printed that out and gave to a travelling companion last year for a trip to Germany, along with a CD of the album to listen to on the plane. It kept him mesmerized for awhile (though it's a very short album).
Lester Bangs wrote a very memorable essay on that album -- pretty sure it's in the CARBURETOR DUNG book. I had it in an old "What Goes On" VU fanzine (remember those?).
