Absolutely! I heard about this one and it seemed too good to be true.
The title "Shaft in Afghanistan" is way too future-perfect-hip for 1974 if you think about it -- but a perfect cliche-title for this decade.
I came across a "long lost Scott Walker / David Bowie collaboration" online once, and it turned out to be some contemporary LA band with a jones for late-70's Berlin sounds.
A clever hoax definitely gets attention.
