Now THAT's interesting. Don't know if I have an SACD system though...

I bought Aion on CD a few months ago (after seeing Lisa Gerrard on the telly) & then found a vinyl LP of it in a 2nd hand shop soon after. The LP is a bit tatty but even so the dynamics are way beyond what's on the cd. It's as if someone's moved the speakers a few feet further apart, an almost eerie sensation of space. If SACD can do the same thing it's worth a go.

Hmmm ... apart from the players being somewhat pricey (yeah I know, I'm a cheapskate) ... I can't immediately tell from a quick browse if I'd require a digital amplifier to go with an SACD player or whether it'd work okay with my existing analogue equipment. Any ideas?

Wow, just checked prices, didn't realise how pricey they were! They do appear to have analogue outputs though.

Ta for that! Somehow I don't think I'll be rushing to get my hands on one of these though: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MACINTOSH-MCD201-CD%2FSACD-PLAYER_W0QQitemZ160201943874QQcmdZViewItem
