Alot of wishful thinking goes on with these 'most influential' shebangs. To me, and it is horrible, U2 are probably the most influental band ever, what with the slew of anthemic drivel-pop-rock they unleashed. 'Influential' is almost always confused with 'good' (though I can take or leave quite a few of those listed), and the two don't always add up;-) *I know, I know, it's just a silly list etc. x

if 'The Wall' has sold more copies than 'Back In Black' i'll listen to it. and thats not likely BIB was at 42m and counting last time i heard. and second only too 'Thriller' worldwide still nowhere near as good as any of the Bon era albums mind

16 Guns N’ Roses, Appetite for Destruction It certainly sounds dated now; mind you, it sounded dated even then. Is that you, AKQ? ; )

Crap list of obvious choices! A lot of the comments are wrong too (Sgt. Pepper was not "the first time the studio was used as a musical instrument". More like it was "the first time a group of talented long-haired potheads were set free in a modern recording studio with no budgetary restrictions.")
