I love Saw delight but can understand why people dont think of it as much cop considering their previous stunning work. The first album i ever got was the virgin 'incandescence' which contained the saw delight title track (with it's great icey guitar) and the tosh 'Silent night' so it's more of an association thing to my younger days than it being a piece of innovative music. The Old grey whislte test version of vernal equinox is simply stunning....

Yeah, the same would apply to me too, it was the Virgin LP's that led me to listen to the earlier Can material, there was no looking back ( er, apart from discovering Monster Movie ) after i'd heard Mother Sky !

Well, Can evidently do polarize opinion, because when I first saw that performance on the Can documentary in the Can Box I was embarrassed by it. It just came across as a load of old geezers doing dull, cocaine-fuelled jamming as opposed to the jagged beauty of their earlier cracked psychedelia.

Heh! ;-) I remember seeing it first time around and the word was out in school about a 'radical' performance! =8-o

Finaly brought the magazine downstairs . Here is Mojo's top ten Can lp's : 10. Cannibalism 2 9. Live 71-77 8. Unlimited Edition 7. Soundtracks 6. Soon Over Babaluma 5. Delay 1968 4. Monster Movie 3. Future Days 2. Tago Mago 1. Ege Bamyasi In the Avoid THESE ! Section : Can: Can Out Of Reach (even worse) I agree with most of the list though i feel Cannibalism 2 is essential only for the non lp tracks. Unlimited Edition is spotty , only the mighty Gomorrha stands with their best work IMO. I would pop BBC sessions and Landed in.

Anyone else think 'Rite Time' is better than it's ever given credit for?
