Guns N Roses Chinese Democracy

http://www.popmatters.com/pm/music/reviews/52498/sebastian-bach-angel-down/

Article on Sebastian Bach's new album where Axl Rose makes appearance on three cuts. This may be as close as one gets to new GNR, as last word is that master tapes are in, but there is a dispute about how to maket album.

GNR ceased to exist in my mind the day Adler got fired

i thought Sebastian Bach would be back flipping burgers by now. how has he still got a record deal ???

the mind boggles

I just have to laugh.

Sounds like they're on track to release it about 2011 then?

sadly it seems they do, and the album will sell gazillions

how on earth does he get away with using the name still ?

surely Velvet Revolver (cough-cough) have a FAR better reason for using it if anyone ?

i like forward to Mick Jagger's Rolling Stones when Charlie and Keef call it a day

I have a hunch this could be the most underwhelming album that ever took 20 years to record . . . he'll be lucky to sell as many copies as Velvet Revolver in the USA!

(Though who knows, maybe GNR is still huge and respected in places like Brazil and Russia.)

i just have a feeling that the name still carries a lot of weight - and folks wont care that its Axl and friends. which is a shame

i LOVED GNR when i was a kid, well up until Lies anyway

saw em plenty of times back then, including the Marquee Club. which will always be one of my fave ever gigs

Axl got the rights to the name by agreeing to not break up the band on their last tour. He forced the others to sign over their rights, or he would have left the tour.

It will be interesting to finally hear the album, as Axl has an obsession with Nine Inch Nails, when he began the album 13-14 yrs ago he felt that was were music was heading. It was, and it did, but...

For many, Guns N Roses were the last great American band.I believe they still hold the record for largest 1st day new release sale for Illusions 1&2.
