I know about the Shadows, Johnny Kidd, Marty Wilde, Vince Taylor. Is there anybody else? Ireland had the showbands, did any of them break out and record?

Screaming Lord Sutch & the Savages. Are Lennon and McCartney not Irish enough already for you?

Cliff who? Oh yes, now I remember: the bloke who was allowed to sing on a couple of Shadows singles. Very generous people, The Shadows. ;o)

I blagged a ticket to see The Shadows on their umpteenth farewell tour a couple of years ago... it was incredibly weird, like walking in on some bizzare suburban devil-worshipping cult. The Shadows walk is quite creepy experienced in the flesh... they were great though. Love the Shads. Best move they ever made, sacking the singer.

When I was a kid I thought the Shadows walk was veeery cool. Cooler walkers followed though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rViBFgjChH0&feature=related
