Is there anybody else?
Ireland had the showbands, did any of them break out and record?

The following website would suggest that they did and in some quantity, though I haven't explored it enough to know how much was released pre-Beatles/rock 'n' roll.

I blagged a ticket to see The Shadows on their umpteenth farewell tour a couple of years ago... it was incredibly weird, like walking in on some bizzare suburban devil-worshipping cult. The Shadows walk is quite creepy experienced in the flesh... they were great though. Love the Shads. Best move they ever made, sacking the singer.
