Number 2 ISP in the U.S. is blocking BItTorrent and possibly other peer to peer sharing. It appears they are not allowing the uploading of content.

I hear Comcast has been cutting people's internet for being online for too long...

Bloody facists. While I can understand the blocking of torrents that contain official, copyrighted releases, I'd hate them to block sites like dimadozen that shares unofficial, bootleg recordings. Dime is very clear that it only shares unofficial stuff and any artist has the right to say no, they don't want there stuff on there and it is removed immediately. Would hate to see it go under as I think its a great service. I hope this torrent blocking trend doesn't spread, but then I guess it depends what country you are in and the relevant laws. It seems to me that quite a lot of artists recognize the spread of peer to peer networks and downloads etc. and rather than kicking against it [which is futile imo] are starting to work with it. Radiohead and even Cliff Richard have recently posted "pay what you want" offers to download their new albums. I'd be very interested to see how much Radiohead made on selling their album this way.

About time, I'd say! Trying to swim up a waterfall is not a good idea if you're not a salmon. ;o)

Comcast has been slowly moving into content(i.e. music, movies, tv, etc) so I am sure there is some self interest at play. It also appeases the RIAA and MPA.
